NOTICE TO ARCHITECTS / ENGINEERS

The University of Utah (U Facilities) is soliciting the services of qualified firms/individuals to perform design services for the following project:

Project Description:
Professional services for the University of Utah Hospital Emergency Department Expansion. This will be a multi-phased expansion project located within the hospital on level A & level 1, in the 529 building area. This will include extensive demolition of existing services located on both floors. There will be some excavation & infill that will take place in the front drive circle of the main hospital entrance.  The selected architectural firm will provide the design services with proposed phasing plan. The selected firm will coordinate with the end users on equipment during the course of the design to facilitate a plan that can be phased while keeping the main emergency department operational during the construction of the project. The selected design team will need experience in equipment specific coordination of emergency department services. The attached scoping documents can be used as reference to the project programming.

Construction Budget: $9,800,000.00

The selection shall be under the Value Based Selection method.  The Solicitation for A/E Services documents, including the proposal requirements and the selection criteria and Project Schedule, will be available at 3:00 PM MT on April 10, 2025 on the BidNet Direct website. A MANDATORY Pre-Proposal Meeting and Site Visit will be held at 1:00 PM MT on April 17, 2025 at Building 525 Hospital Lobby (meet in front of Starbucks), located at 50 N Medical Dr., Salt Lake City. All design firms wishing to submit on this project must attend this meeting.

*Proposal dates for the required references, management plans, statements of qualifications, and interviews will be based on the Project Schedule included in the Solicitation for A/E Services.
