70580 - 70580 - MRI Replacement Building 525, Level 1

Project Description/Base Bid: Demolition of existing MRI space for installation of new Siemens MRI. This will involve removal of existing MRI shielding and replaced with new shielding system. Opening of roof area for new roof hatch for removal and installation of MRI. Structural steel, electrical, mechanical, medical gases, paint and paint area, and install new millwork.

Project Risks: The project location is in an active MRI area, and other radiology support spaces. The road way outside the space is the main emergency department road exit. The roof area of the MRI that is shown to be opened up will need to be coordinated with the owner and protection of the MRI while the roof access is done for removal of the existing MRI. The successful contractor will need to work closely with the end users and the hospital superintendent for access to the MRI space as needed.

Special Constraints: The project estimated start date is set for January 2nd 2026. The successful contractor must have 2 or more years of hospital construction experience in an active patient care area. The contractor must have 2 or more years of experience as a general contractor managing sub-contractors who have hospital related experience. The contractor will be required to meet all ICRA requirements as well as ALSM requirements, and will be actively involved with the hospital safety team walks.
