The Upper Brushy Creek Water Control and Improvement District (District) has decided to build a new office building for Board meetings, public meetings, staff operations, and equipment and materials storage. In accordance with the District mission, this project should be cost effective, energy efficient, and environmentally considerate. Green building alternatives and LEED certification will be strongly considered. The District has selected a Design-Build Delivery Method for design and construction of a new office building for the District, although the site has not yet been selected. The District is requesting a Statement of Qualifications from Architectural Firms (independent of the selected Design/Build firm) to provide Basic Architectural and Engineering Services to act as the District’s representative during the project. Responsibilities of the selected firm will include, but not be limited to preparing a Request for Qualifications that includes general information on the project site (once selected), project scope, budget, special systems, selection criteria, the weighted value for each criterion and any other information that may be of assistance. The selected firm shall also prepare a Design Criteria Package (DCP) that will include a set of documents that provides sufficient information, including criteria for selection, to permit a design-build firm to prepare a response to the District's request for qualifications and to provide any additional information requested. The selected firm will assist the District with the evaluation process to select a Design/Build firm that offers the best value for the District. The firm will continue to represent the District during the Design/Build process through construction completion and project acceptance.
