Summary of Specifications:
All quotes are due on March 25, 2015 by 4:00 PM. Interested bidders must sign this Request for Quotes and either fax it to (910) 938-5031 or deliver to Roy Bredahl at the at the Transportation Services Division at Jacksonville City Hall located at 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540.
The City of Jacksonville is requesting quotes for the manufacture and delivery of 10 Bus Stop Shelters with Solar Lighting Systems. Each Bus Stop Shelter shall be constructed of aluminum tubular components with a blue powder coat finish to be selected by the Owner. The unit shall be three sided and have a footprint of approximately 10 feet by 5 feet and attach to a concrete pad by way of anchor bolts. The roof shall include a fascia and gutter system. The side glazing panels shall be ¼ inch polycarbonate. A freestanding aluminum bench with backrest shall be included; the bench shall be constructed in a manner to discourage persons from fully reclining. A mounted bus schedule holder shall be included. The bus shelter unit shall meet all applicable Federal, State and Local codes including, but not limited to, ADA compliance and ASCE 07-05 specifications for Eastern North Carolina. The Shelter must also meet all NC DOT standards for structural adequacy and vendors must fill out the NC DOT Product Evaluation Program Bus Shelter Structural Adequacy Document found in Attachment 1. The manufacturer shall supply all necessary stamped engineering drawings and specifications.
The Solar lighting system shall be UL listed and consist of a High Efficiency Multi-crystal Photovoltaic 40W Solar panel and storage battery. The controls shall be automatic and programmable. The light fixture shall mount to the inside of the shelter unit and be weather and vandal resistant. The Solar lighting system shall meet all applicable Federal, State and Local codes. The manufacturer shall supply all necessary stamped engineering drawings and specifications.
VII. Questions Communication in connection with this contract shall be in writing only and shall be limited during the period of advertisement to the formal submission of questions. All such written questions shall be delivered by email to rbredahl@jacksonvillenc.gov on or before March 20, 2015. Telephone calls and other informal communication will not be permitted during the advertisement period in order to ensure fair competition among prospective vendors. Prospective vendors are encouraged to submit substantive questions, comments and concerns. Questions will be answered in writing sent via email to all known vendors proposing with final answers being sent out no later than March 23, 2015.
