Summary of Specifications:
The City of Jacksonville is seeking proposals for the removal and disposal of construction, demolition, and vegetative storm debris from the public rights-of-way of the City of Jacksonville, N.C. after a disaster happens. Firms will be selected on the basis of costs, the equipment used and the amount of equipment and personnel that they are willing to assign to this project. A complete pass through an assigned area of the City must be completed within 15 consecutive days. Because all residents will not be able to move their debris out to the street in time for the first pass, a second pass for further cleanup may be required. Up to 15 additional, consecutive days will be granted as predicated by the amount of debris remaining on the ground. Each project must be completed within 30 consecutive calendar days in the sequence described above. Each project will be defined whenever a disaster strikes the City of Jacksonville. This contract will be effective upon signing and will end June 30, 2006.
The City shall have the right to reject any or all bids and/or waive any informality or irregularity in any bid or bids received and to accept the bid or bids, which in its judgment is in the City’s best interest.
Bids will be received by the City Clerk of the City of Jacksonville in Meeting Room A, City Hall, 211 Johnson Boulevard, Jacksonville, North Carolina 28541 until 1:00 p.m. on May 2, 2005 and then at said office, publicly opened and read aloud.
