Summary of Specifications:
The City of Jacksonville is soliciting a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) from engineering firms for contract services to prepare design drawings, specifications, bid documents, bid recommendation and contract administration for the upgrade of the Henderson Lift Station. The City of Jacksonville reserves the right to reject any and all submittals.
The current Henderson Lift Station was constructed in 1981 to replace the original station constructed during the 1950’s. A 16-inch force main was also constructed in 1981 to convey to the pumped wastewater; however, the line was replaced with a 20-inch diameter force main that connects to a 24-inch force main that continues to the City’s Main Pump Station. The 24-inch force main also receives flow from a 16-inch Brookview Pump Station force main. The station has a drywell/wetwell configuration with three flooded suction pumps driven by motors located on an upper floor. Two pumps are operated as variable speed pumps while one is a constant speed pump. Recommendations regarding upgrades to the station are contained within a June, 2010 report by Hobbs Upchurch Associates titled “Preliminary Engineering Report – Henderson Drive Pump Station Upgrade”
The selected Firm should be prepared to have this project ready for bid within 270 calendar days from Notice to Proceed.
