Summary of Specifications:
The City of Jacksonville is currently soliciting proposals for the installation of a sewer cleanout at 305 S. Shore Drive as listed herein. The work shall include furnishing all safety equipment, materials, tools, labor, transportation, and supervision necessary for the prosecution and completion of the work.
All proposals are to be returned to Ms. Stephanie Smith by 5:00 PM on December 5, 2008 at the Community Development Division at Jacksonville City Hall located at 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540. The City encourages all interested bidders to inspect the project area.
The City is interested in obtaining price proposals for the removal of concrete drive to install 4” sewage riser and cleanout valve at 305 S. Shore Drive. It is the intention of the City to have City staff locate where the clean-out valve should be located, within the right-of-way. Bidder will have to communicate with the Project Manager and City Crew to establish the date of the locate. Bidder will leave 1 foot above ground so that pvc pipe can be cut and metal capped-off at level of proposed driveway. Measurement shows the tap to be 5 to 6 ft deep. Low bidder is responsible for the removal of cut concrete and to properly dispose of it at the landfill in addition to filling the excavation with soil.
Bidder must install the cleanout in accordance with the City of Jacksonville Standards, Specifications and Design (latest version), paying particular attention to Division 02530 Sanitary Sewer (in its entirety) and Detail 533.03 attached herein. Additionally, all items shall be completed in accordance to the North Carolina State Building Code. Low bidder is also responsible for using proper safety precaution as required by OSHA. Bidder will have 30 days from Notice to Proceed to complete the project.
All work must be inspected and approved by the City Building Code Inspectors.
The Jacksonville City Council reserves the right to waive any informalities, to reject any or all bids, and to accept that Bid or Bids which appear to be in the Owner's best interest.
