Summary of Specifications:
The City of Jacksonville is requesting PROPOSALS for “Freedom Fountain - Equipment” located in Jacksonville, North Carolina. See attached listing of all equipment.
Project Description: It is round with a 60’ outer diameter. Feature has two tiers with the middle tier having a 50’ outer diameter and 2’ water drop from the upper pool to the lower pool. The width of the lower pool is 4’. All walls are 12” thick. All slabs are 6” thick. Structure is poured concrete. Display includes: 50 - 1.5” cascade nozzles in a ring going 2’ high; 3 - 3” cascade nozzles in a triangle going 10’ high; and 1 - 3” cascade nozzle in the center going 30’ high. Nozzles are all in the upper pool. The nozzles are to be capable of a programmed rising and falling display in three independent groups. There is a 0.25” thick flow of water from the upper pool to the lower pool around the entire perimeter of the upper pool. Each nozzle is illuminated with a color changing, and programmable LED light, and the waterfall from the upper pool to the lower pool is also illuminated via 20 color changing, LED lights. These lights are to cycle between the colors, red, white and blue in programmed sequences. 208 volt, 3 phase electrical power to be provided to the vault. Freshwater connection is at vault, and 3” drain to waste connection is at the fountain.
All proposals are to be sealed, entitled “Bid Enclosed – Freedom Fountain - Equipment, Bid FY12-01” and submitted to Carmen Miracle, City Clerk, by 3:00 PM on August 15, 2011. Bids will then be opened and read aloud in Meeting Room A of Jacksonville City Hall located at 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540.
The Request for Proposals can be obtained at the office of Engineering Division at Jacksonville City Hall located at 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540. Persons requesting shipment of documents shall bear the additional, non-refundable cost of shipment.
The Jacksonville City Council reserves the right to waive any informalities, to reject any or all proposals, and to accept that proposal or proposals which appear to be in the Owner's best interest.
