PROJECT REINSTATED The permitting issue for this project has been resolved therefore the project has been reposted for bid. The permitting issue did not cause any change in the design or scope of work. The same plans and bid documents are still current and valid. Due to the short duration of the delay, the original bid date and time will remain valid. REMINDER: Sealed Bids from qualified Bidders for the construction of the Red Oak Culvert Replacement Project will be received, by the City Clerk of the City of Jacksonville, at Meeting Room A, City Hall, 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540, until 3:30 PM Eastern Standard Time on October 29, 2009, at which time they will be publicly opened and read. The Red Oak Street Culvert Replacement Project includes the installation of eight and ten inch sewer pipe, twelve inch water pipe, three forty-two inch culverts, pump around and dewatering operations, construction of two concrete headwalls and pavement repairs. The project is located along Red Oak Street in Jacksonville, NC. The project also includes all necessary demolition, abandonment of existing lines, curb and gutter replacement, sediment and erosion control procedures, traffic control and all other work required to complete the project. Bidding Documents may be examined at the office of the Owner, Engineering Division of Public Services, City Hall, 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540. Copies may be obtained from the offices of the Owner, Engineering Division of Public Services, City Hall, 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540 for the non-refundable amount of $50.00 for each set. Payment for documents must be received by the Engineering Division and shall be made payable to the City of Jacksonville. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available. Neither the Owner nor the Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including any addenda, obtained from other sources. Checks for documents shall be made payable to the City of Jacksonville. Persons requesting shipment of documents shall bear the additional, non-refundable cost of shipment. The City of Jacksonville will conduct a Pre-Bid meeting at City Hall, Meeting Room A, on October 5, 2009 at 10:00 AM immediately followed by a site visit. The Jacksonville City Council reserves the right to waive any informalities, to reject any or all Bids, and to accept that Bid or Bids which appear to be in the Owner’s best interest.
