Summary of Specifications:
Sealed Bids from qualified Bidders for the construction of the Public Services Complex Structure and Site Upgrades Project will be received, by the City Clerk of the City of Jacksonville, at Meeting Room A, City Hall, 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540, until 3:00 PM Eastern Standard Time on July 27, 2012, at which time they will be publicly opened and read.
The project consists of improvements at the Public Services Complex, located at 350 South Marine Boulevard, Jacksonville, NC 28540 to include the construction of a 2,461 SF Bus Wash Building, the construction of a 5,550 SF pre-engineered metal building; and associated site work.
Several Alternates are also included as follows: • Add Alternate #1 – Bus Wash System • Add Alternate #2 – Sanitation Shelter - 5,574 SF pre-engineered metal building • Add Alternate #3 – Streets Shelter - 4.051 SF pre-engineered metal building • Add Alternate #4 – Pipe Storage Bldg - 3,125 SF pre-engineered metal building • Add Alternate #5 – Pre-engineered self-draining aluminum walkway cover • Add Alternate #6 - Utilities Storage Building Renovation • Add Alternate #7 - Materials Storage Bins • Deduct Alternate #8 – Bus Wash Shell - 2,652 SF pre-engineered metal building
Bidding Documents may be examined at the office of the Owner, Engineering Division of Public Services, City Hall, 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540. Copies may be obtained from the offices of the Owner, Engineering Division of Public Services, City Hall, 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540 for the non-refundable amount of $325.00 for each set. Payment for documents must be received by the Engineering Division and shall be made payable to the City of Jacksonville. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available. Neither the Owner nor the Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including any addenda, obtained from other sources. Checks for documents shall be made payable to the City of Jacksonville. Persons requesting shipment of documents shall bear the additional, non-refundable cost of shipment.
The City of Jacksonville will conduct a Pre-Bid meeting at City Hall, Meeting Room A, on July 10, 2012 at 10:00 AM immediately followed by a site visit.
The Jacksonville City Council reserves the right to waive any informalities, to reject any or all Bids, and to accept that Bid or Bids which appear to be in the Owner’s best interest.
