Summary of Specifications:
Sealed Bids from qualified Bidders for the construction of the Public Services Complex Phase II will be received, by the City Clerk of the City of Jacksonville, at Meeting Room A, City Hall, 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540, until 3:00 PM Eastern Standard Time on July 28, 2010, at which time they will be publicly opened and read.
The project consists: a. Site – earthwork; utilities; paving and concrete slab demolition; paving and dumpster pad. b. Relocate existing 787 SF pre-engineered metal building. c. The building construction consists of 4,379 SF of pre-engineered metal building system additions with reinforced concrete foundations; reinforced concrete slab on grade; masonry; aluminum windows; insulation; interior metal studs; drywall; acoustic panel ceilings; hollow metal doors and frames; door hardware; vinyl composition tile; paint. Building systems utilities: underground electric service; panelboards; fluorescent interior lighting; HID exterior lighting; switches/receptacles; automatic fire detection and alarm system; high-efficiency gas-fired radiant heat and unit heaters; split system heat pumps; outside air ventilation; metal and flexible insulated air distribution ducts; dampers; air devices; automatic temperature controls; domestic hot and cold water; plumbing fixtures and fittings; sanitary and storm sewer; and automatic fire extinguishment system. All utilities connected to municipal services. Compressed air, lube and oil distribution system expansion.
Bidding Documents may be examined at the office of the Owner, Engineering Division of Public Services, City Hall, 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540. Copies may be obtained from the offices of the Owner, Engineering Division of Public Services, City Hall, 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540 for the non-refundable amount of $150.00 for each set. Payment for documents must be received by the Engineering Division and shall be made payable to the City of Jacksonville. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available. Neither the Owner nor the Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including any addenda, obtained from other sources. Checks for documents shall be made payable to the City of Jacksonville. Persons requesting shipment of documents shall bear the additional, non-refundable cost of shipment.
The City of Jacksonville will conduct a Pre-Bid meeting at City Hall, Meeting Room A, on July 16, 2010 at 1:30 PM immediately followed by a site visit.
The Jacksonville City Council reserves the right to waive any informalities, to reject any or all Bids, and to accept that Bid or Bids which appear to be in the Owner’s best interest.
