Summary of Specifications:
Sealed Bids from qualified Bidders for the construction of North Marine Town Center will be received, by the City Clerk of the City of Jacksonville, at Meeting Room A, City Hall, 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540, until 3pm Eastern Standard Time on February 9, 2012, at which time they will be publicly opened and read.
The Base Bid consists of the construction of a wastewater pumping station near the intersection of US Hwy 17 and Piney Green Rd (SR 1406) that will include duplex submersible pumps each rated for 450gpm at 63.0 TDH as well as related appurtenances. The work will also include construction of approximately 9,282 lf of 8” force main, 105 lf of 10” gravity sewer, and all related appurtenances.
Alternate Bid No. 1 will consist of 3,176 lf of 12” water line and all related appurtenances from the tie into existing main at US Hwy 17 and Dixie Trail to Stub out at end of Proposed North Creek Drive.
Alternate Bid No. 2 will consist of the construction of infrastructure within North Marine Town Center and required NCDOT Phase I improvements 1,102 lf of 10” gravity sewer, 577 lf of 8” gravity sewer, 760 lf 12” water line, 357 lf 15” storm drain, 646 18” lf storm drain, 471 lf 24” storm drain, 182 lf 30” storm drain, 170 lf 48” storm drain, stormwater management, grading and road construction per the plans and all related appurtenances.
Bids will be received on single Prime contract basis. Bids shall be on a lump sum and/or unit price basis.
Bidding Documents may be examined after January 13, 2011 at the following locations during normal business hours:

Copies may be obtained from the offices of City of Jacksonville Engineering Division of Public Services, City Hall 815 New Bridge Street Jacksonville, NC 28450, or Intracoastal Engineering, PLLC 5315 S. College Rd. Suite E Wilmington, NC 28409 for the non-refundable amount of $150.00 for each set. Payment for documents must be received by Intracoastal Engineering, PLLC and shall be made payable Intracoastal Engineering, PLLC. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available. Neither the Owner nor the Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including any addenda, obtained from other sources. Persons requesting shipment of documents shall bear the additional, non-refundable cost of shipment.
Bid and Contract securities shall be provided in accordance with Articles 10 and 23 of the Instructions to Bidders.
Bidders shall provide proof of qualifications to perform the Work as described in Article 5 of the Instructions to Bidders.
