Summary of Specifications:
Sealed Bids from qualified Bidders for the construction of the Henderson Drive Lift Station Project will be received, by the City Clerk of the City of Jacksonville, at Meeting Room A, City Hall, 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540, until 3:00 PM Eastern Standard Time on March 8, 2012, at which time they will be publicly opened and read.
The Base Bid consists of the complete rehabilitation of the Henderson Drive Pump Station including conversion of the 5,200 gpm station from a dry pit/wet pit configuration to a 6,200 gpm submersible station, replacement of 3 existing 60 hp extended drive shaft pumps with 3 new 115 hp submersible pumps, new station and yard piping configuration, complete electrical upgrades, SCADA modifications, new odor control unit and structural modifications to accommodate the rehabilitation.
The Alternate Bid consists of the demolition and retrofit of the Country Club Villa Pump Station to include all associated piping, excavation, concrete, sitework, and appurtenances. This Alternate Bid includes the total construction of all electrical work which consists of all switches, controls, connections to the stand-by generator, equipment relocation, electrical service relocation and appurtenances.
Bids will be received on a single prime contract basis. Bids shall be on a lump sum and/or unit price basis.
Bidding Documents may be examined at the office of the Owner, Engineering Division of Public Services, City Hall, 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540. Copies may be obtained from the offices of the Owner, Engineering Division of Public Services, City Hall, 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540 for the non-refundable amount of $165.00 for each set. Payment for documents must be received by the Engineering Division and shall be made payable to the City of Jacksonville. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available. Neither the Owner nor the Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including any addenda, obtained from other sources. Checks for documents shall be made payable to the City of Jacksonville. Persons requesting shipment of documents shall bear the additional, non-refundable cost of shipment.
Bid and Contract securities shall be provided in accordance with Articles 10 and 23 of the Instructions to Bidders.
The City of Jacksonville will conduct a Pre-Bid meeting at City Hall, Meeting Room A, on February 22, 2012 at 10:30am immediately followed by a site visit.
The Jacksonville City Council reserves the right to waive any informalities, to reject any or all Bids, and to accept that Bid or Bids which appear to be in the Owner’s best interest.
