Summary of Specifications:
Sealed Bids from qualified Bidders for the construction of the Multiple Fields Lighting Project will be received, by the City Clerk of the City of Jacksonville, at New Bridge Street Conference Room , City Hall, 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540, until 10:00am Eastern Standard Time on January 23, 2008, at which time they will be publicly opened and read.
The project consists of: The installation of a lighting system for two softball fields, tennis court complex and skateboard park. The contractor will be responsible for supplying all materials, equipment and labor to complete this project as designed with the exception of the Musco supplied materials. The supplying of the Musco equipment is included in an alternate. The two existing softball fields have four existing poles which will be common to the two new fields. These poles have been prepped to accept bolt-on Musco light bars and the contractor will have to install those matching bars and fixtures as provided by Musco Lighting, LLC. The system will consist of new services to each of the three facilities (two new softball fields, eight tennis courts and one skateboard park), panels, contactor cabinets, Musco control link units, wiring, poles and fixtures as specified. In order to be compatible with the lighting systems currently installed at the complex, no substitutions or deviations will be accepted.
Bids will be received on a single prime contract basis. Bids shall be on a lump sum basis.
Bidding Documents may be examined at the office of the Owner, Engineering Division of Public Services, City Hall, 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540. Copies may be obtained from the offices of the Owner, Engineering Division of Public Services, City Hall, 815 New Bridge Street, Jacksonville, NC 28540. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available. Neither the Owner nor the Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including any addenda, obtained from other sources. Persons requesting shipment of documents shall bear the non-refundable cost of shipment.
Bid and Contract securities shall be provided in accordance with Articles 10 and 23 of the Instructions to Bidders.
The Jacksonville City Council reserves the right to waive any informalities, to reject any or all Bids, and to accept that Bid or Bids which appear to be in the Owner’s best interest.
Bidders must be properly licensed under Chapter 87 of the North Carolina General Statutes and under Municipal Code 11-9. A business privilege License is required to engage in business in the City of Jacksonville.
