Summary of Specifications:
ANNOUNCEMENT
The City of Jacksonville must ensure that accessibility to its wastewater collection system is maintained by keeping the easements clear of debris and vegetation. Therefore, as a first step in maintaining the easements, the City of Jacksonville seeks the professional services of a Surveyor. These services will include the surveying and staking of City easements along the route of the Northwest Jacksonville Interceptor Main. This surveying must be completed by October 31, 2006. Immediately following the surveying of this area, a contractor will be hired to clear the easements.
1. The following area will be surveyed and staked:
1. Northwest Jacksonville Interceptor Main Approximate dimensions: 12,150 linear feet x 30-feet wide, approximately .38 acres
Total estimated acreage to be surveyed is .38 acres of easement or, in alternate terms, 2.30 miles of 30-foot easement.
2. These easements are overgrown with vegetation and contain marshland and wetlands. The required survey work promises to be difficult due to the presence of wetlands and very heavy vegetation. Furthermore, accurate and reliable maps for this area are very limited. The Surveyor shall exercise every required precaution during surveying, as much as possible; to prevent the disturbance of said wetlands. The Surveyor shall take all necessary precautions to prevent damage to the environment and for his personal safety.
3. The Surveyor shall determine and verify the location of the wastewater system lines and manholes. The Surveyor shall provide survey drawings depicting the verified location and top elevation of sewer manholes. In addition the Surveyor shall set stakes and references on both sides of the centerline at 50-foot intervals with flags or poles in such a manner that they can easily be seen in the easements. The Surveyor shall set stakes or other controls as many times as necessary and at a frequency adequate to allow a contractor to clear-cut the easement.
4. Drawings are included with this Announcement. Hard copies are available upon request. For this and other particulars of this project please contract Wynne Ray, Utilities Maintenance, at 910-938-5270.
