Summary of Specifications:
This annual street reconstruction contract encompasses nine city streets plus or minus those that may be added or deleted by authorized written change order. Work will include the in-place reclamation and injection of lime or Portland cement, and water as directed by the City Engineer into the existing asphalt and subgrade to a depth of 12 inches, graded and compacted. Streets with curb and gutter will have some of the reclaimed material removed to allow for a smooth transition between the new asphalt surface course and the curb. Roads with strip pavement will have additional dirt(top soil) brought in, graded, fertilized, seeded, and mulched to build up the shoulder. All roads will receive two (2) inches of S-9.5B super-pave asphalt as a surface coat. There are two alternates to this contract that may or may not be awarded in part or in whole. First is the installation of approximately 510 linear feet of concrete rolled back curb, 24 inches wide, along Armstrong Drive. The second alternate is the resurfacing of approximately 1,970 linear feet of asphalt bike trail, eight feet wide with one inch of S-9.5A super-pave asphalt along Chaney Street and Highway 17.
