Summary of Specifications:
I. Introduction
The City of Jacksonville currently uses cellular phones with Push to Talk (PTT) capabilities to communicate between dispatch, route supervisors, one call center, and transit bus drivers. This is an ineffective method of communication and not cost efficient.
II. Scope of Work
The City of Jacksonville seeks proposals to outfit the Transit fleet of thirteen (13) buses, one (1) dispatch station, one (1) spare mobile unit, and five (5) supervisors with an 800 MHz, P25 Radio System. This project will be accomplished in two separate phases.
QUESTIONS:
Communication in connection with this contract shall be in writing only and shall be limited during the period of advertisement to the formal submission of questions. All such written questions shall be delivered by email to rbredahl@jacksonvillenc.gov on or before April 28, 2014. Telephone calls and other informal communication will not be permitted during the advertisement period in order to ensure fair competition among prospective vendors. Prospective vendors are encouraged to submit substantive questions, comments and concerns. Questions will be answered in writing sent via email to all known vendors proposing with final answers being sent out no later than April 30, 2014.
