SUFFOLK COUNTY WATER AUTHORITY SUFFOLK COUNTY NEW YORK NOTICE TO BIDDERS NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN: That sealed proposals for electrical work at various Authority-owned sites for the period March 1, 2016 through February 28, 2017 (with option to extend), will be received by the Purchasing Director of the Suffolk County Water Authority at 4040 Sunrise Highway, Oakdale, New York 11769, not later than 11:00 a.m., prevailing time, on January 5, 2016 at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read aloud. Complete details and specifications relating to the proposed work are on file and publicly exhibited at the Purchasing Department of the Authority, 4040 Sunrise Highway, Oakdale, New York 11769, where copies of said documents may be obtained upon application. You may also register your company on our website at www.scwa.com and/or www.empirestatebidsystem.com and request "More Info" on Contract No. 7305. The Bidder must be an Electrical Contractor licensed to perform work in Suffolk County. Bidders may visit a site of work and familiarize themselves with existing conditions. The Authority has scheduled a Pre-Bid Meeting for December 17, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. to discuss the specifications/requirements of the contract and to address questions relating to the subject project. The Pre-Bid Meeting will be at the Locust Avenue Pump Station (1400 Locust Avenue), on the west side of Locust Avenue, 816' north of Hubal Street, Bohemia, Town of Islip; further located at latitude N 40° 46" 34' and longitude W 73° 7" 6'. It is strongly recommended that all prospective Bidders attend this meeting. Apprenticeship Agreement: The Suffolk County Water Authority requires, pursuant to New York Labor Law Section 816-b, all Contractors and Subcontractors shall have, apprenticeship agreements appropriate for the type and scope of work to be performed under this Contract, that are registered with and approved by the New York State Commissioner of Labor pursuant to the requirements of New York Labor Law Article 23. Evidence of such agreements for both contractors and subcontractors, if any, must be submitted with the bid. The Suffolk County Water Authority has determined that apprenticeship agreements for electricians and for operating engineers (for excavation other than by hand) are the appropriate agreements for this contract.
