NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN: That sealed proposals for electrical work associated with generator installations at various SCWA well field sites (Phase 2), will be received by the Purchasing Director of the Suffolk County Water Authority at 3525 Sunrise Highway, Great River, New York 11739, not later than 11:00 a.m., prevailing time, on May 24, 2017, at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read aloud.
Complete details and specifications relating to the proposed work are on file and publicly exhibited at the Purchasing Department of the Authority, 3525 Sunrise Highway, Great River, New York 11739, where copies of said documents may be obtained upon application. Whereas the Suffolk County Water Authority (Authority) has submitted an application for Storm Mitigation Loan Program funding, the attached specifications pertaining to required Davis-Bacon Act and MBE/WBE requirements are hereby made a part of this contract. Bidders must comply with the terms as described in Contract 7440. Bidders are required to submit the documentation required as per the Davis-Bacon Act and MBE/WBE; failure to submit the documentation will result in rejection of your bid.
The Authority has scheduled a Mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting for May 11, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. to discuss the specifications/requirements of the contract and to address questions relating to the subject project. Prospective Bidders intending to submit a bid shall report on May 11, 2017 to the following location: SCWA Administration Building, 4060 Sunrise Highway, Oakdale, NY 11769. Failure to comply with this requirement is sufficient cause for rejection of your Bid. Please contact Marlon Torres (631-563-0334), the Director of Purchasing, to confirm your attendance at the Pre-Bid Meeting.
Apprenticeship Agreement: The Suffolk County Water Authority requires, pursuant to New York Labor Law Section 816-b, all Contractors and Subcontractors shall have, apprenticeship agreements appropriate for the type and scope of work to be performed under this Contract, that are registered with and approved by the New York State Commissioner of Labor pursuant to the requirements of New York Labor Law Article 23. Evidence of such agreements for both contractors and subcontractors, if any, must be submitted with the bid. The Suffolk County Water Authority has determined that apprenticeship agreements for electricians and for operating engineers (for excavation other than by hand) are the appropriate agreements for this contract.
