SUFFOLK COUNTY WATER AUTHORITY SUFFOLK COUNTY NEW YORK NOTICE TO BIDDERS NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN: That sealed proposals for the demolition of a 300,000-gallon elevated storage tank at the Third Avenue Well Field and Pump Station, Brentwood, Town of Islip, NY, will be received by the Purchasing Director of the Suffolk County Water Authority at 3525 Sunrise Highway, Great River, New York 11739, not later than 11:00 a.m., prevailing time, on August 10, 2016, at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read aloud. Complete details and specifications relating to the proposed work are on file and publicly exhibited at the Purchasing Department of the Authority, 3525 Sunrise Highway, Great River, New York 11739, where copies of said documents may be obtained upon application. You may also register your company on our website and request "More Info" on Contract No. 7372. The Engineer will meet with prospective Bidders at 10:00 a.m. on July 28, 2016 for a pre-bid meeting at the Third Avenue tank site, located on the north side of Third Avenue, 443' east of First Street (51 Third Avenue), Brentwood, Town of Islip; further located at latitude N 40° 46' 39", and longitude W 73° 15' 21". It is strongly recommended that all prospective Bidders attend this meeting. Failure to comply with this requirement may be deemed sufficient cause for rejection of the proposal. Apprenticeship Agreement: The Suffolk County Water Authority requires, pursuant to New York Labor Law Section 816-b, all Contractors and Subcontractors shall have, apprenticeship agreements appropriate for the type and scope of work to be performed under this Contract, that are registered with and approved by the New York State Commissioner of Labor pursuant to the requirements of New York Labor Law Article 23. Evidence of such agreements for both contractors and subcontractors, if any, must be submitted with the bid. Minority and Women Owned Businesses are encouraged to bid.
