Summary
Demolish existing plaza concrete, excavate down to properly compacted soil, install and compact new structural fill, and install new exterior plaza concrete around the restroom to allow for safe public egress to and from the restrooms entrances and exits. This will also be designed to drain water away from the restroom to keep building settlement issues from occurring.
Demolish existing, settled interior slabs and tile, install new concrete slabs, tiling, and drainage on the interior of the restroom where settlement has occurred to create a safe, level walking surface for the public entering and exiting the restrooms.
Make several aesthetic improvements to the interior and exterior to create a more visually appealing building to the public using the facility. Improvements include installing new lighting fixtures so all fixtures around the building match, filling non-structural wall cracks, replacing cracked tile flooring, replacing cracked drywall, and replacing damaged cove bases.
Background
The CMAC venue includes a restroom on one of the several plaza levels at the venue. The slab on the exterior and portions of the interior of the restroom have settled over time due to poorly compacted soils and poor drainage. The settlement has caused trip hazards for the public that utilize the restrooms during concert events. This project will provide the public safe access to and from the restroom.
