Summary of Specifications:
Furnish and install granular activated carbon (GAC) as the uppermost layer of media on six (6) potable water filter beds in the Metropolitan Water Board water filtration plant, located in Oswego, New York for the purpose of removing seasonal taste and odor causing compounds in Lake Ontario water. This work includes the manufacturer’s labor, equipment and materials to remove an approximate 24-inch layer of spent GAC filter media to be replaced by new GAC. The spent GAC removed shall be collected in suitable containment for disposal by the owner (Calgon Carbon Corp.). The successful bidder will be responsible for providing labor, materials and technical expertise for the proper placement, wetting and grading of the new GAC.
