Summary of Specifications:
The UCWDB is seeking programs that will be capable of delivering services countywide to TANF-eligible youth. Programs should be designed to deliver the activities mentioned in I. General Information above; should be capable of furnishing personnel, facilities and services as necessary to operate the program; and should be experienced in and capable of, accurately determining program eligibility. The Ulster County Workforce Development Board (UCWDB) has been notified that it has been awarded funds to operate a Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Summer Program for Youth. The amount of funding to be awarded through this RFP is $ 173,777.00. The activities conducted by a service provider shall: A. Provide, to eligible youth, work experience and the economic benefits of a summer job through the provision of subsidized employment, adequate supervision and appropriate training; B. Enhance the employability of eligible youth by developing specific occupational skills, good work habits and good work attitudes; C. Provide training opportunities to selected eligible youth who will benefit from an educational experience on the job and/or through academic disciplines; D. Provide counseling and other supportive services to enable eligible youth to return to school, find unsubsidized employment, or, if currently enrolled in school, remain there until graduation.
