RFB-UC04-149C - IN-PLACE PAVING OF KINGS HIGHWAY

Summary of Specifications:
The purpose of this bid is to establish a price for the installation of in-place paving including all necessary material, manpower and equipment to overlay a 5.7 mile section of roadbed on Ulster County Road #41 and #33, Kings Highway, in the Towns of Ulster and Saugerties. The section to be paved will be from just north of the intersection with the Leggs Mill Road north to the intersection with Route 212. The pavement will average 22' wide (two-11’ lanes) and will be a minimum of 1 ½” thick when compacted. The Awarded contractor will be required to True and Level (T & L) the roadbed and apply a 2” thick layer of Type 6F asphalt product and compact it to 1 ½”. The contractor will apply a tack coat to the roadbed before T & L to promote adhesion of the blacktop application. Ulster County engineers estimate 6300 tons of blacktop plus T & L will be required to complete this project. 

The Ulster County Department of Highways will schedule and coordinate the project with the Awarded vendor. The Awarded Contractor must be prepared to start the paving as soon as possible after notification of Award. 

This job must be completed no more than 3 weeks after award of contract.
