RFI-RC-2014-001 - The Rockland County Violence Interruption Project (RCVIP)

Summary of Specifications:
The County of Rockland seeks proposals from independent contractors for grant funded Crime Research Analyst Services for the Rockland County District Attorney’s Office. Contracts will be issued based on responses to this Request for Information. Compensation is set by the Rockland County District Attorney’s Office and cost proposals are not required to be submitted. Independent Contractors are required to meet the County’s Insurance requirements. Independent Contractor - Crime Research Analyst – Level 2 (Moderate Experience) Independent Contractor - Crime Research Analyst – Level 1 (Entry Level) The Rockland County Violence Interruption Project (RCVIP) is utilizing an intelligence-led review of Social Media, to detect “chatter” that is “reasonably indicative” of potential violence in the targeted areas. When the Social Media Analysis Section of the Regional Investigative Resource Center (RIRC) discovers any indication of potential violence they will contact the Police Department with jurisdiction over the geographic area where the violence may occur. From that point on it will be the Police Department that determines how to address the situation and what resources to use.
