1. PROJECT OVERVIEW
Rockland Community College is seeking quotations from qualified contractors for the furnishing and installation of a new 240-gallon interior POLY grease trap at the Nyack Culinary School facility. Work includes removal and disposal of the existing trap, all necessary pumping services, labor, materials, fuel surcharges, and compliance with prevailing wage requirements.
2. DETAILED SCOPE OF WORK
A. Supply & Installation of New Grease Trap
The contractor shall supply and install a commercial-grade 240-gallon interior POLY grease trap meeting the following performance specifications:
- Flow Rate: 125 gallons per minute (GPM)
- Water Capacity: 150 gallons
- Grease Capacity: 250 lbs
Required components include:
- All necessary fittings, connections, adapters, and accessories for proper operation
- Any supports, anchors, or mounting hardware
- Manufacturer documentation, specifications, and warranty information
Installation requirements:
- Installation must adhere to all applicable plumbing codes, manufacturer guidelines, and RCC facility standards
- Proper alignment, leveling, and securing of the unit
- Full tie-in to existing plumbing infrastructure
- Complete operational test to confirm correct flow and performance
B. Removal & Disposal of Existing Grease Trap
The contractor shall:
- Pump and clean the existing interior grease trap prior to removal
- Disconnect all inlet/outlet lines
- Remove the existing unit from the building
- Dispose of the unit in accordance with all federal, state, and local disposal regulations
C. Pumping for Replacement
The contractor shall pump out the existing grease trap as part of the replacement work, including:
- Fuel surcharges
- Disposal of grease, effluent, and waste
- Manifesting/disposal documentation if applicable
D. Labor Requirements
- Prevailing wage labor is mandatory
- Contractor must comply with all NYS labor regulations and wage classifications
- Certified payroll must be provided upon request
E. Site Conditions & Protection
- Protect all surrounding areas, floors, equipment, and finishes
- Maintain OSHA-compliant safe working conditions
- Perform daily cleanup and final site cleaning upon completion
F. Final Cleanup & Turnover
- Remove all debris, packaging, and waste
- Provide startup guidance if required
- Deliver all warranty materials and manufacturer documentation
3. CONTRACTOR BID REQUIREMENTS
All quotes must include:
- Total lump sum cost for labor, materials, pumping, disposal, fuel, and equipment
- Total lump sum cost for the new 240-gallon POLY grease trap
- Estimated start and completion dates
- Proof of insurance
- Product details including make, model number, and technical specs
- Any exclusions or optional alternatives
