Description

The County of Rockland is considering the issuance of a Sole Source award to Venture Foundation, LTD for the provision of a Supported Employment Program-Bulk Ordering Program for those with Developmental Disabilities.

This award may be made on a sole source basis in accordance with the Rockland County Procurement Policy.

The contract fills a need for:

Supervised work experiences for those individuals who are not quite ready to work out in the community but have the desire to work and the skill set to work with proper support.
Provide up to 25 individuals with part time work. These individuals will be paid, at minimum wage, by the Just A Buck store as employees and will be responsible to take bulk orders, fill these orders and deliver these orders to community establishments.
Individuals participating in this bulk order initiative will have the opportunity to interact with various community establishments and will have ongoing community integration experiences via delivery services.

Program Goals and Services include, but are not limited to:

To provide assessment and training to Developmentally Disabled individuals that will hopefully lead to successful community employment.
To provide opportunities for community integration for our individuals who will be delivering bulk orders to customers.
To provide a real work experience where our individuals will be paid minimum wage.
To provide a real work experience where our individuals will be productive, proud and successful members of society.
To provide a safe, supportive environment where our individuals can improve their employment skills.

Success will be measured in two ways. 1) Approximately 25 people will have the opportunity to work competitively in this program during 2017. 2) A satisfaction survey will be completed by participants at the semi-annual and annual marks.

Any non-profit agency that believes they are qualified to provide the services detailed above and is ready, willing and able to provide the services; shall respond to this notice no later than 3 PM on March 23, 2017 (14 days after advertisement) of this announcement. The response should provide specific details regarding the agency’s interest in providing such services as well as their prior experience in providing the same or similar services. In addition, the response should detail the agency’s connections to the Rockland County community.
