The Rockland County Department of Mental Health is issuing an RFP to identify a provider to establish a countywide Mobile Crisis Service which is funded by the New York State Office of Mental Health. This service will provide mobile and telephonic response and follow up services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year for adults and children experiencing, or who are at imminent risk of experiencing, a behavioral health (BH) crisis.
It is anticipated that this RFP will result in a contract awarded to a single provider who has knowledge and understanding of the new Office of Mental Health (OMH) Mobile Crisis guidelines.
All applicants must have the ability to comply with all State, Local, and Federal laws and regulations. The Mobile Crisis Service shall comply with New York State OMH guidance dated September 20, 2019, and the summary state plan amendment updates to mobile crisis services dated February 1, 2024. These two documents provide the basic framework and requirements for the service, however local needs will determine how it’s delivered.
