The County of Rockland is seeking proposals from both for profit businesses and non-profit agencies that assist people with disabilities and/or veterans to operate a food service concession in Building A, of the Dr. R. L. Yeager Health Center in Pomona, NY.
The County will license the use of approximately 700 square feet, that was previously used as a Coffee/Gift Shop at the former Summit Park Hospital and Nursing Care Center. Utilities will be provided by the County and will be included in the license fee. All equipment, furnishings and telephone service will be the responsibility of the licensee.
The County formally operated a full-service cafeteria in Building A, which closed in 2012. Prior to its closing, the Summit Park Cafeteria averaged between $10,000 - $11,000 in sales per month. In addition to the full-service cafeteria operated by the County, a non-profit agency operated a gift/coffee shop in the same building. Sales history for the gift/coffee shop is not available. A bank of vending machines is also maintained in Building A.
Building A of the Health Center Campus is currently being converted for general office occupancy use. The following county departments recently relocated to Building A:
- Department of Personnel
- Tourism Department
- Insurance Department
- Department of Finance and Budget
- Consumer Protection.
- Youth Bureau
