RFB-RC-05-019 - LED Passenger Information System, Remove, Supply, Retrofit & Insta

Summary of Specifications:
The County of Rockland is looking to update Twenty-Four (24) Passenger Information Systems to its existing fleet of Transportation of Rockland buses. The County of Rockland is moving its fleet toward the Light Emitting Diode (LED) Passenger Information System since this technology is known to significantly reduce maintenance expense and inventory; and reduces the electrical load on the bus. The County may also update additional buses after the initial purchase, with the same product specifications only of different yet-to-be-determined sizes on an as needed basis (Section 10 – Percent Discount). 

This specification provides the minimum performance requirements for the Passenger Information System. The specifications are not intended to impose restrictions upon specific designs and materials that conform to the purpose and the intent of this specification. 

The Contractor shall provide new Passenger Information Systems including all labor, material, equipment, and supervision required to perform the required specifications herein. The work involves the removal, retrofitting, installation and disposal of existing equipment as advised by the authorized County representative.
