PROPOSED SOLE SOURCE AWARD TO ROCKLAND OPPORTUNITY DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION, INC. FOR SOCIAL ADULT DAY CARE CENTERS, CONGREGATE & TAKE HOME MEALS, AND TRANSPORTATION, IN AN ESTIMATED AMOUNT OF $69,545
The County of Rockland is considering the issuance of a Sole Source award to Rockland Opportunity Development Association, Inc. for the provision of Adult Day Care Centers, Congregate & Take Home Meals, and Transportation. Funding amount is contingent on the adoption of the County of Rockland 2017 Annual Budget. As such, the final funding amount may differ from the estimated amount provided in this notice.
This award may be made on a sole source basis in accordance with the Rockland County Procurement Policy.
The contract fills a need for:
- Adult Social Day Care, including transportation and congregate meals for eligible Rockland County residents. The current program is operated at 15 Elyon Road, Monsey, NY.
- An Adult Social Day Care program geared to improving the health, social welfare, and safety of the elderly segment of Rockland County.
- A program that offers a five day per week social adult day care center as well as demand transportation for medical appointments and other errands.
- Providing participants with a hot take-home meal at the end of each session.
- Provision of demand transportation, outreach services to the homebound elderly, support services which provide essential information on pertinent senior issues, and referrals to other agencies.
- An Adult Social Day care program that offers the senior citizen population intellectual and social stimulation and physical support so that they may continue to be a vital element of the community.
