Summary of Specifications:
The Contractor shall furnish required equipment, remove existing fare registers, and install new farebox units to the Rockland County Department of Public Transportation (RCDPT) at the site indicated the specified quantity of electronic validating bus farebox(es), revenue collection equipment, data processing equipment (Portable Data Unit), spare parts and other goods and services described in these specifications. GFI Genfare ODYSSEY Validating Farebox or approved equal The bid also includes several items that are to be considered options for the County of Rockland. Consideration of these items will be based on price and available funding but they are included in the overall low price award determination. All equipment shall be provided with the appropriate license(s) and copies of software and firmware required to operate the system throughout its service life at RCDPT. The Contractor shall remove existing fare register equipment, install the proposed fare collection equipment and perform all tasks necessary to configure it into a complete system, with each item thoroughly tested and ready for operation. It is highly recommended that Bidders make an appointment to review the current fleet models to familiarize itself with the proposed locations of the current revenue collection equipment and the layout and organization of RCDPT bus facilities. Upon award the Contractor shall make at least one on-site visit and conduct such other surveys as may be necessary to assure proper installation of the specified equipment. The Contractor shall be responsible for inspecting each type of vehicle and for determining how and where the equipment can be mounted. The bid response shall include installation diagrams and details for placement of the equipment for each of the vehicle types shown on Attachment A. The current fare register equipment does not belong to the County of Rockland and shall be removed and inventoried by the awarded contractor, and returned to the County DPT.
