Summary of Specifications:
The purpose of this RFP is to inform the private sector of a potential business opportunity to provide civil engineering design and site surveying consultant services for the placement of bus shelters, on an as needed basis. This solicitation is to establish an “as needed” type professional service contract based on a predetermined billing rate. Rockland County intends for this Request for Proposal to result in the selection of a firm with civil engineering and site surveying consultants to perform, but not be limited to, the following: examine potential bus shelter locations, survey site, design the placement of bus shelter, research, permits, etc. The County currently purchases the 5’ x 9’ Handi-Hut bus shelter and has it installed on a 7’ x 11’ concrete pad. Currently a new bid is being solicited for bus shelters. Upon award, consultant will be advised of any change in manufacturer and or design. Copies of drawings will be supplied of the awarded bus shelter.
