Summary of Specifications:
The purpose of this RFP is to inform the private sector of a potential business opportunity for The County of Rockland to retain an Architectural/Engineering firm to design a modern, state-of-the-art transportation / storage / repair facility that will meet the highway department’s operational needs through the next 50 years. The facility shall also house the administration, operation, engineering and drainage divisions of the Highway Department in one cohesive office building. The facility shall have an aesthetically pleasing appearance that blends well with the surrounding neighborhood. The Architectural/Engineering Firm shall have the experience required to accomplish this need. All structures designed for the site must have similar or complimentary visual appearances, which creates an overall aesthetically pleasing appearance to the community. While this RFP identifies five unique main buildings the Architectural/Engineering firm has the latitude to reconfigure building uses for economy of scale to best achieve the needs listed.
These plans and specifications shall be in complete compliance with the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code, the New York State Wicks Law, and all other governing agency codes and standards.
