Summary of Specifications:
The County of Rockland, Department of General Services, Facilities Management Division, is seeking to obtain from qualified professional engineering firms, design services for the development and preparation of plans and specifications for the Building “A” Roof replacement located at the Dr. Robert L Yeager Health Center, 50 Sanatorium Road, Pomona, N.Y. 10970.
These plans and specifications shall be in complete compliance with the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code, New York State Wicks Law, NFPA, and all other governing agency codes and standards.
The County of Rockland, Facilities Management Division, is seeking to enter into a contract for Engineering Design Services for the Building “A” Roof Replacement. The present roofing system on the low-rise portions of the building is a Sarnafil ballasted roofing system. It is approximately 14 years old and has been experiencing continual random water leakage over the past ten years. The number of incidences of water leakage has increased steadily. This water leakage has caused and continues to cause significant water damage to the building interior. The present roofing system on the tower portion is a Built up Roofing system comprised of roofing felts, hot mopped roofing asphalt, and roofing gravel. It has reached the end of its useful life. The roof area is approximately 25,000 square feet for the tower portion and 72,000 square feet for the low rise portion. All the roof substrates are concrete over metal deck.
