Summary of Specifications:
This specification establishes the Orange County Department of Public Works minimum standard for sand suitable for use in Pavement Ice Control Operations. All material furnished under this specification shall be in conformance with the New York State Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Construction and Materials, January 2, 2002, and all Addenda thereto; specifically as set forth in Section 703 - Aggregates, Sub-Section 703-01 Fine Aggregates. Furthermore, it is the intent of this specification that the sand furnished consist of hard, strong, durable particles which are free from any coating, injurious amounts of clay, and other unsuitable substances.
