Summary of Specifications:
Orange County, under anticipated approval of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, is planning four (4) County wide Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection Events, tentatively scheduled for “Event Number 1” Friday and Saturday, April 10th and 11th , 2009 at the Orange County Airport, Montgomery; “Event Number 2”, Friday and Saturday, June 12th and 13th , 2009 at the Port Jervis Fire Training Center, Port Jervis, “Event Number 3”, Friday and Saturday, August 21st and 22nd, 2009 at the Delano Hitch Stadium, Newburgh; “Event Number 4”, Friday and Saturday, October 16thand 17th, 2009 at the Orange County Fire Training Center, Goshen. The purpose of these events is to provide Orange County residents, schools, farms, municipal governments, businesses, and various Departments of Orange County that are conditionally exempt small quantity generators with an economical, convenient and environmentally sound disposal option for their unwanted or out-dated pesticides, fertilizers, solvents, oil based paints, etc. Residents will participate from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Saturday April 11th, June 13th, August 22nd, and Saturday, October 17th, 2009. Schools, farmers, municipalities and businesses that are conditionally exempt small quantity generators will participate from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 10th, June 12th, August 21st and October 16th, 2009.
