Summary of Specifications:
It is the intent of Orange County Department of Public Works, to solicit bids for a 78” x 48” Aluminum, Non Self-Contained, Slide Gate, which shall consist of all work required for furnishing, fabricating and delivering to the D&H Canal Park, located at 205 Hoag Road, Cuddebackville, NY 12729, Orange County New York. The gate unit shall be as manufactured by Waterman Industries, Inc., or an approved equal. To have an “equal” approved, a bidder must submit any and all required information about the product to Edmund Fares, P.E., Commissioner of Public Works, Orange County Department of Public Works, 2455-2459 Route 17M, Goshen, New York 10924, no later than seven (7) calendar days before the scheduled bid opening date. A written decision stating approval or disapproval (with reason(s) for disapproval) will be sent out no later than three (3) calendar days before bid opening. Information to be supplied by a bidder seeking to obtain an “equal” approval shall include, but not be limited to: 1. Unit dimensions (length, width and depth); 2. Unit weight and weight of individual components; 3. Material composition of the unit; 4. Lifting equipment; 5. Sketches of the units including plan, elevation and cross section. County forces will be responsible to off load the delivery trucks at the designated site and installation of the unit.
