Summary of Specifications:
In 2003, New York State convened a statewide inter-agency prisoner Re-Entry Task Force to examine current statewide re-entry policies and develop a comprehensive continuum of re-entry services, programs, and supervision that is consistent with national best practices. One result of the Re-Entry Task Force was the development of a statewide grant programs to assist local communities in coordinating the return of ex-offenders into their home counties. Dutchess County has been awarded a Local Re-Entry Grant by the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS). This grant will allow the County to continue its role as a leader in developing and implementing progressive strategies in the criminal justice arena.
