The Dutchess County Sheriff's Office has a requirement for a 2011 two seat, side by side, Utility Terrain Vehicle. The Sheriff's Office is responsible for many activities that require the use of a vehicle capable of carrying two or more people to facilitate the transportation of people and equipment at such events as the Dutchess County Fair and other mass gathering events such as concerts and festivals. Many of theses areas are not easily accessible by a traditional vehicle, and the large amount of pedestrian traffic inhibits the vehiclular movement of law enforcement and emergency rescue personnel. Therefore, it would be extremely beneficial to initiate the use of two person (side by side) off-road vehicles to provide countywide police and emergency rescue service to these areas.
