Summary of Specifications:
This bid describe the requirements to furnish and deliver new vehicle snow chains and accessories to the Department of Public Works Vehicle Maintenance Division, as required, over a 12-month contract term.
This contract may be extended by mutual consent for an additional 12-months, at the same unit prices, terms and conditions, and delivery requirements as the original contract.
Chains are to be Security Chain Company, Campbell or equal. Chains are to be of steel construction (winter tire). Chains are to conform to National Association of Chain Manufacturer’s (NACM) specifications, or other comparable nationally recognized standards.
Note: Link chains are to be V-Bar reinforced. Cable chains shall be ladder style cable chain, and are to have steel rollers and no coils.
Tire chains shall be of steel and are to conform in types, sizes, dimensions, material and workmanship, finish, detail requirements, methods of sampling, inspection and test to the National Association of Chain Manufacturer’s specification No. NACM-5179 (TC), dated 5/1/79 and any amendments or revisions thereto.
