RFP-204 - Engineering Services for the Daylighting of the Saw Mill River

Summary of Specifications:
The Corporation of the City of Yonkers (the “City”) is soliciting sealed technical and cost proposals to establish a contract through competitive negotiation with a qualified engineering consultant to provide professional services for the design of a “Riverwalk” in Downtown Yonkers at Larkin Plaza. 

Funding for this project comes in part from a grant from the Empire State Development Corporation (Project No. U831). The awarded consultant is encouraged to use its best efforts to achieve Minority/Women-owned Business Enterprise participation of not less than 5% of the total contract award. 

Larkin Plaza runs north to south from Warburton Avenue to Buena Vista Avenue, and is confined by Dock Street to the west and Nepperhan Street to the east. The project will involve “Daylighting” the Saw Mill River, which currently flows under Larkin Plaza in a concrete and stone flume, and creating an aesthetically pleasing, urban park that interfaces with the surrounding commercial neighborhood, and presents the uncovered river as a focal point
