Summary of Specifications:
The City of Yonkers (“City”) is interested in securing a professional tree management service to assess the City-owned tree inventory, and to develop and implement a City-wide tree maintenance and management plan. The development of this comprehensive management plan will include not only the assessment of the backlog/inventory of tree service calls which now exists within the City limits, but also the potential maintenance needs of all City-owned trees within or in the vicinity of residential areas, public gathering areas and/or public thoroughfares. For proposer reference, an itemized listing of the existing tree service backlog for the period of January 1, 2007 through November 26, 2012 is attached hereto. Notwithstanding the attached, proposers should be aware that this backlog inventory is only intended to be illustrative of the type and magnitude of the City’s existing tree management needs, and that the successful proposer will be charged with assessing this backlog in conjunction with other best practices to assist the City in determining the tree management and maintenance needs of the City as a whole, and to develop and implement a plan of action for undertaking all such services, based on priority, in an expedited manner. Proposers should be aware that: (1) the City maintains a full-time tree service team; and (2) tree service calls are received and inventoried each day. As such, the tree service inventory annexed hereto will change and evolve during the bid period, and the successful proposer will be provided with an updated inventory at the time a contract for services is issued.
