RFP-339 - Chicken Island Redevelopment

Summary of Specifications:
The City of Yonkers (“City”), in conjunction with the Yonkers Community Development Agency (“YCDA”), invites qualified respondents to submit proposals to redevelop Chicken Island, the redevelopment site (“Chicken Island” or “Site”).  Chicken Island is roughly 6 acres in size and located in southwest Yonkers, New York. It is situated in the heart of the City’s downtown, near Yonkers City Hall and Yonkers City Court. The Site benefits from high visibility as well as easy access to major city, county, and state roads and the Yonkers train station, which is served by Metro-North Railroad and Amtrak. Additional information about the Site is provided in Section III. 

As discussed herein, the goal of this request for proposals (“RFP”) is to select a qualified developer or development team to redevelop Chicken Island into an impactful, mixed-use site that contains a government center and a combination of uses, such as public, institutional, business, commercial, office, and nonresidential accessory uses.
