The City of Watertown has been awarded and is administering a $500,000 grant through New York State Homes and Community Renewal’s (HCR) New York Main Street Program (NYMS). This grant will be used for the continued historic building renovation and façade restoration of the Lincoln Building located at 89-99 Public Square in downtown Watertown. The building is owned by Doolittle & Hall LLC. The scope of work includes façade restoration, storefront restoration, interior commercial space renovation, center stair restoration, elevator renovation and replacement of the main roof. Construction is anticipated to take a total of six months, beginning September 1, 2017. The City is requesting qualifications from contractorsin order to establish a list of pre‐qualified contractors from which to solicit bids for the work to be completed under the New York Main Street Program. As administrator of this Grant, the City is receiving bids; however, contracts for construction services will be directly between the Owner and Contractor.
