The City of Rome, NY is requesting proposals from qualified consultants for the design, and construction bid documents for the development and installation of a new complete-streets compliant public right-of-way to connect Floyd Avenue to Vega Drive, including an open-space public park. Situated within the Woodhaven Re-development Area, the design of the Woodhaven Complete Street project shall consider the recommendations from the Woodhaven Area Complete Streets Study and the Woodhaven Revitalization Plan. The result will be a viable complete street designed transportation corridor that will connect Mohawk Valley Community College, the Mohawk River Trail, transit stops on Floyd Avenue, new public park, Ellsworth Road, and the Griffiss International Sculpture Garden Trail network. The Woodhaven Complete Street project is vitally important to provide a new, safe, and efficient transportation connection in the Woodhaven area that considers the needs of all travelers, including pedestrians, cyclists, transit riders, recreationists, and motorists.
