Summary of Specifications:
The Board of Chosen Freeholders of the County of Morris is soliciting proposals for the preparation of a Historic Structure Report / Master Plan for the Morris County Courthouse located at Washington & Court Streets, in the town of Morristown, County of Morris, New Jersey from professional and qualified firms. Consultants shall have previous historic preservation experience and shall have previous experience under the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards and Guidelines and Historic American Buildings Survey and Historic American Engineering Record guidelines. The objective of this scope of work is to develop a Historic Structure Report for the courthouse to aid the County in preserving the structure while accommodating current and future functions and needs as a courthouse.
Specific Outcomes include:
Identify character and defining features of the building; document existing conditions of the buildings structural, mechanical, electrical & plumbing systems; develop a condition assessment and analysis of the building; develop timeline actions and priorities.
Consider special building requirements such as security, fire, accessibility and ADA requirements, energy efficiency sustainability and environmental concerns.
CONTRACT TERM - By October 8th, 2014, the County shall have completed Consultant selection; the Historic Structure Report project shall begin on or around October 14th, 2014, and shall be completed by Sept. 29, 2015.
