Request for Information The County of Morris is seeking ideas from qualified development teams interested in an opportunity on county-owned property located two blocks from the Morristown square. Morris County has a need to replace a 170 unit parking garage on Ann Street and is looking for interested firms who may have an interest is sharing this development opportunity, or who may have a concept to replace/reclaim those parking accommodations. The purpose of issuing this Request for Information (RFI) is to obtain an expression of interest and an initial reaction from qualified development teams to this opportunity. The County is seeking ideas and concepts from qualified development teams in an effort to re-acquire sufficient parking to accommodate 170 government employees in the most efficient, cost-effective manner possible. Ideally, this would be developed by means of a public/private partnership resulting in a quality, mixed-use facility. Alternatively, ideas to obtain sufficient parking accommodations by utilizing other sources and/or locations will also be entertained. The property is located on Ann Street behind the County courthouse and two blocks from downtown Morristown and the Morristown Square. The garage is located on a hillside adjacent to the historic districts encompassing Morristown National Historic Park and Fort Nonsense and the Morris County Courthouse Complex. Copies of the Request for Information can be obtained from the Morris County Purchasing Office. Proposals for the above will be received by the Purchasing Agent in the office of the Purchasing Agent, Room 517, Fifth Floor, Administration & Records Building, 10 Court Street, Morristown, New Jersey, at 2:00 p.m. prevailing local time on Tuesday, January 7th, 2014 and will be publicly opened and read.
Proposals shall be submitted enclosed in a sealed envelope bearing the name and address of the bidder and the words “Expression of Interest, Ann St. Property”, addressed to the Purchasing Agent of the County of Morris. Proposals shall be delivered to the Purchasing Agent either in person at the hour designated or previous thereto, by delivery or mail, to the Morris County Purchasing Division, Room 517, Fifth Floor, Administration & Records Building, PO Box 900, Morristown, New Jersey 07963-0900. No proposals shall be accepted after the designated time. Morris County will not assume responsibility for proposals forwarded by mail or delivery service.
