Summary of Specifications:
The County of Morris is soliciting proposals from Engineering Consultants, licensed to practice in the State of New Jersey, to provide design and construction administration for Asbestos Abatement on part of the ground floor and within the fifth floor of the Morris County Courthouse which is located on Washington Street, Morristown, New Jersey. The scope of the project will consist of removing indentified asbestos material on part of the ground floor area and within the fifth floor of the 1969/70 addition at the Courthouse. The asbestos material is known to be in the Fire Proof Spray-on adhered to the under decking (ground floor) and roof decking (fifth floor) and any identified pipe insulation throughout. Project will include the removal of the all drop ceilings and HVAC ductwork and piping, electrical conduit, low voltage data wiring and ceiling fans including other building materials to insure access to the said asbestos. The project will also include the replacement of the drop ceilings and all associated electrical fixtures, fire alarm devices, mechanical piping and HVAC ductwork. Removal and installation of N.J. State and Morris County Sheriff’s electronic devices are to be done only by qualified contractors. The Project is to proceed within two (2) weeks after the issuance of a Notice to Proceed from the Morris County Purchasing Agent. All work required for preparation and advertisement of bid specifications shall be completed within thirty (30) calendar days after award of contract. It is anticipated that construction shall be completed within ninety (90) days after award of construction contract.
