Summary of Specifications:
The County of Morris is soliciting proposals from Professional Engineers, licensed to practice in the State of New Jersey, to provide design and construction administration for replacement of the Practice Range Roof located at the Public Safety Training Academy, 500 West Hanover Avenue, Parsippany-Troy Hills, New Jersey 07054.
The scope of the project will consist of removing an existing roof above the Practice Range area. The replacement roof system shall be a modified bituminous membrane roofing with a gravel flood coat. The replacement design shall include drip edges, flashings, drains and metal work as needed to complete the project.
The Consultants shall include in their proposal an evaluation and recommendation to protect the decking/roof in and around the Firing area from bullet and fragment penetrations.
The Consultant shall, for the benefit of the County, monitor all phases and aspects of the construction to ensure conformance to the contract drawings and specifications and advise the County with regard to the same. Such services shall include special attention to, and strict monitoring of, the areas of the project’s schedule, budget, and conformance to contract drawings and specifications.
The Project is to proceed within two (2) weeks after the issuance of a Notice to Proceed from the Morris County Purchasing Agent. Consultant team must be available during both the Pre-Construction and Construction Phase of the Project. Duties shall include those outlined in “Tasks”. The Proposal shall include a Lump Sum Fee for each Task outlined herein. Costs for all miscellaneous services to complete the work (i.e., mileage, printing, clerical services, testing equipment, hourly rates, etc.) shall be included in the Cost. All work for professional engineering services to provide final design and construction documents under this Contract should be competed within thirty (30) calendar days. It is anticipated that construction shall be completed within one hundred twenty (120) days after award of construction contract.
